At Fuel Bar + Refuge, we believe in bringing people together over great food, innovative drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Established in 2019 and housed in a historic 1930s gas station, we have reimagined this iconic space into a vibrant gathering spot for the Spring Lake community.
Our History
Fuel Bar + Refuge is built on a rich history and a vision for the future. The site was originally a Texaco gas station from 1934 to 1970, then transformed into Chan’s Restaurant, serving the community for decades. When Chan’s closed in 2016, we saw an opportunity to revive this beloved location.
The name “Fuel” pays homage to the building’s roots, while “Refuge” reflects our mission to create a sanctuary where people can unwind, enjoy great food, and connect with others.
